You can do anything … but not everything.

March 5th, 2018 #coffeetalk

Waking up on a slightly snow covered morning is not the way I imagined this March morning going but I have my warrior juice (dark roast coffee) in hand and need to get motivated and focused today.

With this being one of those “Mondays” I have come to realize that I need to get in front of it by doing what I know on these kind of days.

What works for me on these days is to make sure that I focus on one thing and not fifty and perform that one thing until it has obtained rock star status and then I can move onto one more thing.

What usually happens on days like this is I am not only tired and grumpy but I also have a laundry list of things that I need to do and get done. This doesn’t help my psyche and my brain work at all.

So this is where I am parked today … I will focus on one thing and do it really well then i will move onto another … I can accomplish anything I just might not be able to accomplish everything.

Have a great day today

Much love, Shano

  1. I’m in the same kind of mind set here in Iowa. Like the song goes, “Rainy days and Mondays always get me down…”…. Well, the weather is only part of it. After being sick for 3 days last week (I blame my hubby for bringing that home), then since I missed work because of it, I stayed home all weekend, alone, with depressed feelings and cravings for bad food choices (it was my birthday…was just feeling sorry for myself) to now – I’ve become a full-blown slacker to the point my body is feeling it. Back pain from sleeping in and taking naps, joints hurt from lack of daily regimen of work n exercise, even plantar fasciatis creeping in because I haven’t been wearing my shoes with good support. Deep down I know that I have no one to blame but myself for REACTING to these circumstances in my old “bad habit” ways. I’m overwhelmed with the stacks of totes, boxes, etc filled with a collection of items I need to purge and photos etc that need organized in the basement. So… One thing at a time… And I pray that I can bring myself up out if this funk without too much damage on the scales come Friday. Thanks for your encouragement and letting me ramble. Now, I need more Coffee!!!
