Good Wednesday morning to all of you goooood looking people who are trackin’ workin’ and makin’ things happen today. I have my coffee in tow and am ready to jump into today like a madman.
I was having a conversation with someone yesterday while in a meeting and they were talking about how they have such a long way to go to get to where they need to be when it comes to health and it seems like it is insurmountable and like a huge mountain to climb. (Haven’t every single one of us heard this or said this in our lifetimes)
I sat down with her and dug into her story during the break and let her fill in the blanks and we talked about baby steps and patience (two words that people who want to lose weight never want to hear) and how if she moved a little today when she got home or made a better choice at lunch on what she ate today or making small adjustments, she could call that a victory from Making today a better day than yesterday. Start there.
Start in that spot where you are just building small bricks as the foundation until you can string together more and more good choices going for your goal.
I felt she heard me because she thanked me and gave me a big hug at the end of the training but you never know. As for us, we need to remember this. We are worth the investment and even if it feels like it is taking forever or seems too big of a hill to climb, today is better than yesterday is the only approach we need.
